Medjugorje Tours is an independent guide built to help pilgrims and visitors find the right day tour or guided pilgrimage to Medjugorje from the Adriatic coast and from Sarajevo. We are not a tour operator; we research, compare and curate the highest-rated licensed options so you can book with confidence. We cover all pilgrimage tours to Medjugorje, day trips from Dubrovnik, Split and Sarajevo, alongside practical guides to reaching the shrine, the two climbs and the parish prayer programme.
Why We Built This Site
The parish of St James has recorded 51,663,740 distributed Holy Communions since 1985, and more than two million in 2025 alone. Yet booking a reliable, well-guided way to get there from the coast remains confusing. Operators offer day trips from Dubrovnik, Split and Sarajevo with very different group sizes, itineraries, guide quality and cancellation terms.
We built this site as a clear comparison guide for English-speaking pilgrims and travellers. Not a listing of every product on every platform, but a curated evaluation of the tours we would recommend to a friend. Every tour featured here has been assessed against the same criteria: strong verified review scores, experienced English-speaking guides, transparent pricing and free cancellation.
How We Choose the Tours We Feature
We evaluate every tour on four criteria before it appears on this site:
Verified review quality. Every tour here has demonstrated consistent quality across dozens or hundreds of verified bookings. A 4.9 rating across 47 reviews and a 4.4 rating across 968 reviews tell different but equally meaningful stories, so we show both and let you decide which matters more.
English-speaking guides. The history of the village, the reported apparitions of 1981 and the significance each site holds for pilgrims all deserve a guide who can explain them well, and who is clear about what the Church has and has not said. We only feature tours where reviews consistently praise the guide's knowledge and communication.
Transparent departure city coverage. Most sites only surface tours from Dubrovnik. We include departures from Split/Trogir and Sarajevo as well because the right tour depends on where you are staying.
Free cancellation. Travel plans change. All tours we feature offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
Who Writes This Site
These pages are written by Ana Kordić, a Herzegovina-based guide and travel writer who lives within an hour of the parish and has walked both hills in every season. Her brief here is a narrow one: report what the parish publishes, what the roads and the paths are actually like, and what the Church has said in its own words, without telling anyone what to believe. Where a figure cannot be verified from a primary source, we say so on the page rather than round it off.
